Other Details:
The Copper Queen Hotel, built in 1902, was the product of a booming mining camp called Bisbee, Ariz. What was once the largest city between St. Louis and San Francisco, it is now a beautiful, quiet getaway. While the town of Bisbee has grown up, it has not lost its charm. Soon after Bisbee became a town, the Copper Queen Hotel came about as a place for dignitaries and weary miners to rest their hats. It is located roughly 100 miles southeast of Tucson at an elevation of 5,300 feet. At the hotel, it is usually 10-20 degrees cooler than in Tucson or Phoenix. In the winter, it even gets an occasional snow. Although the Copper Queen Hotel has maintained the ambiance of the Old West, it has been renovated with modern day conveniences to make a stay more comfortable.
