Grand Canyon Lodge is located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is referred to as the other side because it is only visited by 10 percent of all Grand Canyon visitors. The original lodge was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1937. The rebuilt lodge features rustic limestone walls and timbered ceilings. Attractions and accommodations include 40 motel rooms, a dining room, sunroom, caf , saloon and a gift shop. The lodge also features over 160 cabins of varying sizes and amenities. Grand Canyon Lodge is open seasonally from mid-May through mid-October. Activities include hiking, canyon mule rides and tours. Grand Canyon Lodge is operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts, the largest park-management company in the country.
