Ballena Isle Marina is a nautical oasis with access to both Oakland and San Francisco. The marina is the only one on the south side of Alameda and takes its name from its southwest end, where it has a distinct two-pronged shape ("ballena" means whale in Spanish). The setting is resort-like with great views of the Ballena Bay Yacht Club's  sailboats and a plethora of amenities is offered, including wireless Internet and telephone connections, storage units, tennis courts, showers, restrooms, laundry services, retail shops, the Island Lighthouse restaurant and a cafe, a picnic area, and boat charter services.
