Zen offers Asian fusion cuisine in the form of small plates. It was voted Best New Restaurant by Alameda Magazine in 2009. Specialties include the mentaiko spaghetti, which is prepared with garlic, onion, enoki, fish roe and parmesan cheese and the rib eye steak, prepared with garlic and feta cheese. The Asian sweet potato fries, prepared with taro and spicy aioli, are a customer favorite. Zen offers a large selection of beer, wine and cocktails featuring vodka, shoju and sake.
