For Royal Donut, it's all about location, location, location. Located beside the train station on California Drive and Burlingame Avenue, visitors to this local gem are sure to find themselves partaking in one of their freshly glazed donuts before pouring a steamy cup of coffee.
The people behind the counter are quite keen on Burlingame's history and remember the many manifestations of this location. In the 60s it was Hasty Tasty Hamburger, then Flings Hamburger. Today, it's been under Dan Lu's ownership and has been known as Royal Donut for 23 years.
They now serve Marianne's Ice Cream and milkshakes. Everybody makes a stop here for a treat along the way somewhere or otherwise to enjoy a pastry on one of the benches outside and enjoy the view. And lucky for both the locals and guests, it's open 24-hours a day.
