This classic roadhouse was originally built in 1934 as a gas station. Under the front portico, where the gas pumps once stood, is the parking area now strictly "For Harley-Davidsons Only." (Plenty more parking is available out back.) Motorcyclists in leather, are however, just one segment enlivening the mix here. UC Davis professors, hunters, suburbanites, farmers, or pretty much anyone from around these parts could show up on any given evening. As a bartender declared recently, "Everybody comes here!"
Weekend evenings, spring through fall, local bands (genres range from country to rock, blues, and reggae) perform on the open-air stage. American fare, including burgers, fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, subs and huge bowls of chili, is served here.
