Opening in this location in 2006, TCU renovated the facility after it was vacated by Re-Runs Thrift Store (which in its turn had taken over the building previously occupied by a bank branch--Re-runs had displayed vintage vinyl records in the steel-lined vault).  Unlike a bank, which returns profits to shareholders, member-owners of TCU receive returns in the forms of lower fees and better interest rates.  Anyone living in Yolo, Solano and seven other northern California counties may join TCU.

From its beginnings as a credit union pooling the resources of military and civilian personnel on Travis AFB in 1951, TCU looks forward to celebrating its 60th anniversary by offering gifts and holding celebratory events to be announced.   Today, it continues its innovative not-for-profit approach (Credit Unions were a radical idea back in 1934, when mandated as part of the New Deal) to serving its customers.
