From the outside, Cherry On Top looks like a progressive fashion boutique or hair salon; inside, it's actually a frozen yogurt stand with a futuristic décor. Colored glass globes hang from the ceiling, high-polish surfaces abound and flat-panel TVs are mounted behind the counter. But the counter is only where customers pay for their treats—the real action is in front of the cash register. This is a self-serve, pay-by-weight froyo place. There are eight flavors on tap at any given time, and customers are free to mix and match or even swirl them. A giant toppings bar provides opportunities for further flavor enhancement. Indoor seating is along high counters or a few tables. Outside, there are large round tables to accommodate bigger groups and those wishing to take in the fresh air.
