Arborland Montessori Children s Academy, started in 1988 with seven students, now enrolls students from prekindergarten through sixth-grade. It believes that education is not just a passage of knowledge or rote memory but develops the child's thinking skills, teaching him how to learn, sparking his interests and providing him with applied learning experiences. The academy also teaches etiquette lessons, conflict resolution, table manners and social courtesies. It provides scientific Montessori material, inspirational teaching methods with hands-on participation, independent learning skills and a cooperative learning environment in multi-age groups. The training is imparted through professional teaching staff in a safe environment. Other programs include art, dance, computer, piano and swimming classes.
