Who doesn’t enjoy eating and drinking good food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere where one feels free to sing and dance and make new friends? That is Lizarran. A Spanish tapas restaurant that brings together the best of the Spanish gastronomy with all the passion of the Spanish culture. In 1988, at just 24 years of age, Mateo Ferrero, a young entrepreneur from the region of León, Spain opened a tavern now known as Lizarran in Sitges, near Barcelona. There, he recreated the atmosphere of tapeo (a savory meal made up of many hors d’oeuvres-style dishes) and txikiteo – a tradition combining food, wine and song – which he so enjoyed. That is how pintxos (a style of tapeo popular in the north) first got to Catalonia, Spain, bringing along with them the tradition of eating with friends while standing around a tavern chatting with friends and strangers alike. We welcome you to come visit our Fullerton restuarant, which is located in the historic downtown area.
