The founding of this bank is very interesting. The seeds were planted during a pickup basketball game in the late 1990s. In 2000 it opened. It is a commerical community bank, with an emphasis on community. The main difference between it and larger commercial banks is that when someone gets a Certificate of Deposit, the money is loaned to local business. Whereas bigger banks will take the money and loan it to businesses in Los Angeles, New York or maybe Rome.
