Even though it's less than 10 years old, Powell's Sweet Shoppe seems more like a company that's been in business much longer than that. It has a nostalgic atmosphere, reminiscent of neighborhood candy stores from years ago. This large, colorful store is quite a treat for kids of all ages. The slogan says it all: "Powell's Sweet Shoppe is an old-time, old fashioned, old-world candy store taken from America's imagination."

The business started in Santa Rosa, Calif. and has since gained lots of industry attention from the candy. Powell's was featured in a 2009 Professional Candy Buyer magazine cover story and has been covered by many local news outlets.

Eighteen franchise stores are spread throughout California, Oregon, Idaho and Colorado, all overflowing with candy brands that originated between 1900 and 1990.
