Shannon's adds a little dive bar charm to the 2nd Street nightlife scene.
The lighting is dim and the bar room's layout is rectangular, which makes for lots of elbow rubbing when it gets crowded on weekends. Lots of screens, several pool tables and a jukebox complete the atmosphere.
A very well stocked bar offers a wide assortment of liquors, as well as several domestic and imported brews on tap. Beer and mixed drinks drop significantly in price during happy hour, and generous pours are the norm.
Fans of Long Beach-based Sublime will note Shannon's as one of the band's favorite hangouts.
