City Sip is a libation-lover's gem on W. Sunset Blvd. in historic Echo Park. Every evening but Monday the space opens its doors to anyone who is curious to learn more about wine creation and history while enjoying a few glasses. Classes are $50 and include an instructional portion, a tasting based on an overarching theme and a food pairing with cheese and meat appetizers. Sign up for a class online or by phone—the current schedule is constantly updated on the City Sip website. If you'd just like to come in for a more informal tasting or to purchase a bottle of wine, stop in for Happy Hour (Tuesday through Frisday, 5:30 .m. - 7 p.m.), where select wine costs $4 a glass and nibbles are $5. City Sip also has a handful of American craft beers on tap.
