The study found that elder abuse is widely prevalent and even increasing in California's nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living facilities, especially as our population continues to grow older. As a California elder abuse lawyer, I am dedicated to stopping this abuse by holding hospitals, nursing homes, and caregivers accountable for their acts of cruelty and neglect. Twelve years ago, a friend came to me with suspicions that his grandmother had suffered abuse and neglect while in the care of a nursing home. I investigated the case and was sickened by what I discovered.
