Vera’s Tamale Express shop is located in the Mission Camino shopping plaza. It serves homemade tamales and an assortment of Mexican items for take out.

The tamales are made with fresh ground corn and filled with chicken, beef or pork. Vera also makes mushroom, roasted garlic and vegetable tamales with cheese and jalapeno, as well as a vegetarian spinach and feta tamale.

The small shop is for pick-up and take-out only. You can watch Vera and her team making everything by hand, or see her at the Hollywood Farmers Market where she holds court. The store also stocks homemade chips, salsas and Mexican sauces. Make sure to order one of her dessert tamales that are sweetened with honey.
