Rainforest Caf is owned and operated by Landry's Restaurants, one of the leaders in the casual dining restaurant industry that also owns and operates various other restaurants, including Landry s Seafood House, Willie G s, Charley s Crab, Chart House, The Crab House, the Kemah Boardwalk and Saltgrass Steak House. The restaurant s menu includes a variety of specialty items, such as seafood, beef, chicken, pasta and pizza. Additionally, it serves appetizers, such as leaping lizard lettuce wraps and coastal calamari. Rainforest Caf has a special dessert called sparkling volcano, which is a mountain of rich chocolate brownie cake and ice cream topped with a lit sparkler. The restaurant features a tropical setting, including huge aquariums of tropical fish, butterflies, a lush canopy of banyan trees and flowering vines and state-of-the-art animatronics that include trumpeting elephants that rear their heads.
