Pappy McGregor was born and raised just outside Glasgow, Scotland. Born the son of a sheep farmer, with a average upbringing and endless responsibilities on the farm, Pappy longed for a life that offered more. When he came of age he joined the Royal Navy and spent many years traveling throughout Scotland, Ireland and England, spending most of his free time with his shipmates drinking in local Pubs admiring the fine craftsmanship of the wide range of pubs he'd frequented. After a honorable discharge he spent his time raising his 4 children with his loving wife and honing his two new passions, golf and building pubs. He quickly became a very accomplished amateur golfer, even playing in the inaugural Irish Open in 1927.
