Fans of Hayes Valley favorite Mazzat can now welcome a new addition from owner Adam Chamsine, who's directed his penchant for Lebanese cuisine into a new project called Mazza Luna. The more upscale answer to Mazzat's family-friendly neighborhood vibe, Chamsine's new spot has a chic, loungy atmosphere and a focus on wine, beer and small plates.Born in Lebanon and raised in Sweden, Chamsine makes use of family recipes in a dinner menu that features tapas such as fatet betnjan (fried eggplant topped with garlic yogurt sauce, pita croutons and pine nuts) and kibbeh (deep fried cracked wheat stuffed with ground beef and pine nuts, with garlic sauce). Hummus, babaganouge and falafel all appear on the small plates menu, which features nothing above $14. (See the full dinner menu here www.mazzaluna.com.)
