The Hummingbird House Cafe is located in the Los Rios Street Historic District, the oldest section of the town and the area's actual first street. It is situated adjacent to the train station as well as other sight-seeing haunts. The area is best enjoyed by foot so customers can wander through the old buildings, the boutique shopping and restaurants. Hummingbird Cafe is in one of these landmark buildings, the 1878 Combs House. Considering the quaint western appearance, one would expect to find the usual American cafe fair, but when you enter the kitchen of owners Milen Tsekov and Mariana Artatchka you will discover the authentic homemade cuisine of their native Greece. Menu items include coffee, sandwiches, wraps and Greek favorites such as stuffed grape leaves and hummus dip with drizzled Greek olive oil drizzled and pita chips. Make sure to order a homemade Greek pastry such as Baklava along with a cup of hot espresso.
