This beautiful 5,065 acre park offers recreation and sporting opportunities for just about everybody. There are numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding; some 4 miles of the trails are paved.
The 315-acre Lake Chabot is well stocked with trout, bass and other game fish. All fishermen aged 16 and older must have a current California Fishing License and an East Bay Regional Park District Daily Fishing Access Permit. Seniors aged 62 and older can buy a Senior Fishing Access Permit, which is valid for one year at all Park District lakes and reservoirs. The Marina Cafe by the lakeshore sells permits.
Canoes, kayaks and scull craft 20 ft. long and under can be launched at the lake. Canoes, kayaks, row boats, pedal boats, and boats with electric trolling motors can be rented at the marina. Swimming is not permitted in the lake. See the 1 for more information.
The Marina Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, and also includes a bait and tackle shop.
There's a year-round family campground with RV hookup sites and hot showers overlooking the lake. There are also seven camping areas designated for organized groups. Sites can be reserved by calling 1-888-EBPARKS.
Other park assets include group picnic areas, volleyball courts, a marksmanship range, two equestrian centers and an 18-hole public golf course and driving range.
