Taqueria El Mezcal offers a wide variety of Mexican favorites every day from 10 in the morning until 10 at night. Weekday favorites include super burritos and super nachos, but the real draw is the weekend special of menudo, a traditional Mexican stew of beef tripe and red chili. Customers drive in from as far away Oakland to sample El Mezcal's special blend. 

Meals are served with homemade chips, which may be enjoyed with pickled vegetables, fresh radishes and red or green salsas.

Diners should expect the biggest crowds at lunchtime and after school, when students at nearby San Lorenzo High School stop in for a snack. Still, seating is ample inside and out.
