Named after a busy Japanese international seaport, Hakata combines traditional Japanese dining with an active sports bar environment. The menu offers an array of sushi, tempura and teriyaki dishes, a la carte or in combinations. Lunch specials include miso soup, rice and sunomono. There are also weekly specials and six- or seven-course dinner menus.

Customers can sit at tables or the long sushi bar in the back. In the center of the restaurant is the bar, serving specialty cocktails, beer and sake; happy hour is 5pm to 7pm, cash only. Televisions surround the bar and dining room for sports viewing. Many celebrities have visited Hakata, which features signed posters on the wall from musicians like Brian Setzer and Brian Wilson.
