Meals on Wheels West is dedicated to nourishing and enriching the lives of the home-bound by delivering healthy meals and services that promote self-respect and independent living.

The organization's vision is to eliminate hunger and isolation and to foster independence.

No matter why a person is homebound—age, health, a disability—they face two major difficulties: poor nutrition and loneliness.

Meals on Wheels West  helps prevent both by providing homebound people of all ages both food and friendship.

Meals On Wheels West believes in delivering more than a meal—the organization is delivering smiles a meal at a time. Every week day, volunteers deliver lunch and dinner, the daily newspaper, fresh fruit and companionship, which is often the only companionship clients experience.

Meals on Wheels West has been a certified Nutrition Program since 1999. This national certification designates that we have met or exceeded organizational accountability in our administrative and fiscal policies and procedures and have complied with the industry criteria for quality of service.

In 2010 they provided meals and companionship to 413 individuals with more than 3,000 volunteers serving 86,162 meals.
