Theofffice (yep, it's all one word) is located on 26^th Street, just south of San Vicente. It sits in a long complex that runs along the west side of the street. Theoffice is directly across the street from the historic Brentwood Country Mart. Theoffice describes itself as "library meets coffeehouse," and it definitely meets that description. The facility does indeed have the feel of a library, as one is enveloped by the overwhelming silence upon entry. The place is intended as a kind of mini-office, where users can rent a workspace (basically a small desk) for a monthly fee. That fee gets members the use of a Herman Miller chair, high-speed Internet access, a community computer, a full reference library, Bose headphones and parking. It also offers a selection of espresso drinks and teas.
