A local favorite, Star of Siam serves authentic northern Thai cuisine and sushi. Siam, an old name for Thailand, manages to pull off its dual-culinary approach with surprising grace. The yellow-toned restaurant with an aquarium and hanging umbrellas has a vast menu of Asian dishes. One item that stands out is the Angel wing dish: a chicken breast stuffed with pork and onion and topped with plum sauce. The Internet is chock full of references to this popular, locally-owned restaurant, even though the owners themselves still had no website as of 2010. The wait staff is extremely polite and allows customers the space to linger for hours, which many do.
