In the remote Northwestern corner of Colorado hides a community of a few thousand people. A community still centered on a ranch lifestyle and a beautiful river. This place is Meeker, Colorado and besides having the trout-filled White River, flowing straight through town, it is also home to one of the Western Slope's historic hotels. Sitting quietly on Main Street, is the Meeker Hotel and Caf, whose brick faade holds numerous Old West stories. A guest knows they're in for something unique the moment their footstep echoes off the lobby's hardwood floor. For some it may be the hand stitched leather chairs, the glass work or the custom forged wood burning stove. For others it may be the biographies and pictures hanging on the walls, documenting some of the Hotel's most exciting guests (such as Teddy Roosevelt). And for many more it will be the world-renowned trophies of non-typical elk and mule deer Meeker Hotel opened in 1886 in an old Army barracks. By 1896 it was time for a new building so the center portion of hotel was erected. The structure standing today was finished in 1904. We are very proud that Meeker Hotel has been in operation for over 120 years and look forward to the opportunity to share some of the western hospitality that has been a specialty for so long.
