West Woods School opened more than 30 years ago in northern Hamden after nearby Alice Peck School became overcrowded. In the years since, student populations have dropped and Alice Peck closed as an elementary school, leaving only West Woods to serve students in the area. Class sizes are small and test scores are among the best in the district.
