This facility is operated by the town in order to provide an advanced wastewater system and maintenance of more than 120 miles of sewers throughout the community. The town's sewer systems serve 20,000 residents, with the remainder serviced by septic systems that are also disposed of at the plant. The facility is designed  to handle a flow of approximately 7.4 million gallons a day and can process as much as 15.9 million gallons per day during peak times. Secondary solids removal, denitrification and other services are provided as part of daily operations at the facility, which is located behind Recreation Park.
