Disneyland Resort is a place where people go to escape the stresses of everyday life, just like Walt Disney intended. It's not as big as Orlando's resort, but it's still an ideal family-friendly playground that anyone that believes in Peter Pan's mantra of never growing up can enjoy.

Three must-see attractions at Disneyland Resort
The resort's main attraction is still Disneyland. Disney's California Adventure is across the way and is also worthy of a day-long visit. If you need a break from the parks, you can head over to Downtown Disney to do some shopping.

Where to stay near Disneyland Resort
The resort's three hotels are highlighted by the Craftsman-style, expensive Grand Californian Hotel. There are over a dozen cheaper hotels within 3 blocks of the resort, including chains like Hilton and Marriott.

Best and worst time to go to Disneyland Resort
The resort is extra magical from October to December, when the Halloween and Christmas decorations come out. The Saturday crowds can be brutal during Memorial Day and Labor Day, and they're especially tough in August.

Discounts at Disneyland Resort
Discounts are rare for most non-Southern California residents. However, U.S. Military members can get park and resort hotel discounts except during the Halloween-Christmas season.

Food at Disneyland Resort
Expect to spend between $15 and $25 on each meal per person. If you have kids, head to Downtown Disney and hit Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria. If you don't have kids and have money to burn, drop by Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel.

Parking at Disneyland Resort
Parking will set you back about $20, but the lot is so huge you won't have trouble finding a spot. If you're just coming to shop, Downtown Disney's dedicated lot offers three hours of free parking.

Transportation alternatives to Disneyland Resort
If you're close to the hotel, you can buy a one-day pass to ride the Anaheim Resort Transportation bus. Most hotels within a few blocks of the resort also offer shuttle service for a fee.
