Gregory Gort founded this independent diner in 2004 and still maintains his position as chief cook. The menu offers a wide assortment of sandwiches, subs, and salads, in addition to the restaurant's signature "Almost-Famous" chili. The hospital theme comes from this company's location within the Riverside Medical Center, just down the street from Manatee Memorial Hospital. There are benches outside, for anyone who wants to place a take-out order and enjoy the view of the Manatee River.
Finally, please note that the Riverside Medical Center strictly enforces its policy of limiting visitor parking to the spaces underneath the building. This restriction is in place for the convenience of the doctors and nurses who occupy the vast majority of the facility.
