Greek Town Grille, a truly authentic Greek restaurant from the Karamountzos family, opened its doors in August 2008. Critics agree that Downtown Clearwater has a winner on its hands in the Greek Town Grille.The menu is filled with traditional Greek dishes that will rival even Yiayia’s (Grandmother’s) cooking. House Specialties including Spanakopita (layers of crisp filo dough filled with spinach, cheese and fresh herbs),Moussaka (eggplant, zucchini, potatoes and ground beef, topped with Bechamel sauce), Pastitsio (layers of pasta and seasoned ground beef, topped with Bechamel sauce), and Chicken Pitas are just the beginning of its varied and delicious menu. Arni Giuvetsi (braised lamb shank in a red sauce) and Octapodi Skaras (octopus char grilled with authentic Greek seasoning, drizzled with olive oil and lemon) are some of its other authentic Greek dishes that are second to none. For dessert, an order of Kataifi (shreaded filo dough, walnuts and cinnamon, crowned with light syrup) will top off a genuine Greek culinary experience.No detail was over looked when the Karamountzos family created the GreekTown Grille. “The community has shown amazing support during these initial opening weeks,” comments owner Sam Karamountzos. “I think people are genuinely excited about having a truly authentic Greek restaurant in this part of the county.
