The restaurant concept, Luella’s is inspired by my late mother, Luella Miggins Donald, who always took great pride in preparing hot, healthy, delicious meals for my family each and every day. We knew the meals were prepared lovingly and caringly and we always had plenty of food to eat. She seemed to be the cleanest person I know as she always maintained the kitchen in spotless condition, and took great pride in washing greens repeatedly until they were perfectly clean. A devout Christian, she frequently quoted the scripture; “cleanliness is the next thing to godliness.” And when it seemed that we were ever so hungry, she could prepare unbelievably delicious meals so quickly. For holidays and special occasions, which included every Sunday (after church of course), Mama, Sister Donald, Mother Donald, Luella, Sister, Aunt Luella, as she was called by many, always delivered not only a delicious meal, but a festive social gathering and memorable family times.
