Cary, North Carolina, is in the center of North Carolina's Triangle area. Cary has more than 20 public parks, a thriving community arts program and many global corporations. It's no wonder the city has been voted one of the best places to live by Money Magazine—there is plenty of green in the city, and it is one of the twenty safest places to live.

There are plenty of kids' activities in Cary, making it a magnet for families. Downtown, the Applause Cary Youth Theatre is housed in the Cary Arts Center, which offers classes, camps and workshops in painting, sculpture, crafts, music and theatre. The theatre company also sponsors several plays each year involving youth from around town, and sporty kids enjoy the center's youth athletics program where they can play baseball, basketball and tennis. The Herbert C. Young Community Center, just north of the Arts Center, caters to teenagers by offering classes and social events.

Around the corner, adults interested in visiting Cary's cultural attractions enjoy a visit to the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, a museum that was originally a railroad hotel built in 1868. The gallery exhibitions housed in the Page-Walker center change from month to month, but past displays have included a quilting display, juried shows, and the floral paintings of Daniel Gutierrez.

Two miles to the east, visitors will find the home of the Carolina Railhawks soccer team, part of the North American Soccer League, at WakeMed Soccer Park. Games can be caught from late February through July. When soccer is not in season, the park also serves as a nationally-recognized cross country course, venue for NCAA College Cups, and home for soccer training camps. On game days, the Backyard Bistro at the stadium provides a variety of sporting-event foods and beers.

A five-minute drive south, the Cary Towne Center offers more than 50 mall favorites including Hollister, Hot Topic, Dillards, Bath and Body Works and Victoria's Secret. Catch a movie at the Regal Crossroads Stadium 20 IMAX theater. In addition to current Hollywood films, the theater screens classics, Bollywood films and independent films. The Arboretum at Weston, across town, is another shopping venue where visitors will find a golf supply store, a salon, a shoe store and Maggie Moo's yogurt shop.

Great places to live also have great eateries. An New World Cuisine, located within the Arobretum, is an Asian-influenced restaurant where diners can select from a variety of foods from sushi to full curry plates. The cocktail list at An is fresh and inventive, and the hefty sake menu includes flights for sake tasting. 10 minutes south of the Cary Towne Center, visitors find The Cary Café, a local favorite for breakfast and lunch. Here, customers order omelettes as a sandwich or one of a variety of soups. The cafe also has frozen dinners for patrons to pick up and enjoy later as their family meal. While boasting plenty of big-city attractions and amenities, Cary still maintains its small-town charm.
