To Branko Palikuca, amber and topaz are more than simply beautiful gemstones, they represent the attainment of a long held vision and dream. Palikuca and business partner Walter Veselinovic first opened their premier gemstone, Amber Café, in downtown Westmont in July of 2004. Palikuca was prepared to bring the sophisticated fine-dining background he had obtained while working at Chicago’s University Club to the suburbs. In 2008, after four years of growth and success, the team decided to create Topaz, and have since added a third restaurant, Dolce’s Pizzeria and Wine Bar, located near Amber in Westmont.
