Since opening in 1992, Merle's has been the only true southern barbecue place in Chicago. This Zagat-rated restaurant has both tables and booths, along with TVs to watch the big game. Merle's BBQ Restaurant offers a variety of appetizers, wings, salads and burgers but their speciality is smoked, slow-cooked barbecue. They have a full-liquor bar, wine list, and a variety of more than 20 beers. They also have a nice bourbon list or Bakers, Bookers, Woodford Reserve and more.
