Other Details:
We are a hands-on, local family run operation. Our goal is to provide our customers with unmatched quality and value. To that end, the kitchen prepares practically everything from scratch – not only all soups and salad dressings, but also mayo, sour cream, and almost everything else! We pride ourselves in searching out local artisans who have the same philosophy as we have. Our coffee comes from Passion House Coffee Roasters, a year old company on West Fulton in Chicago, which uses free trade beans and produces distinct coffee and espresso. Ed’s Way, a grocery store located a few blocks away on Beloit, supplies our freshly ground hamburger meat. Our bread is made just down the road at Kay’s in Forest Park & Prairie Bread Kitchen in Oak Park. We source our eggs from Little Farm on the Prairie, an Organic egg farm in Illinois. Jake’s Country Meats in Cassopolis, MI is a 7th generation family run pork farm, you can visit them at www.JakesCountryMeats.com. We are proud to use Nichols family farms, who have been sustainably farming vegetables and fruits of all kinds for over 30 years, in Marengo, Ill; and Stewards of The Land, a co-op of 30 odd Illinois family farms who grow produce, poultry, and assorted meats in Livingston County, Ill. We source dairy products from small family run creameries all over the Midwest. Our ice cream comes from Forest Park’s very own Brown Cow! We use organic products whenever we can obtain them, and work hard to keep our prices reasonable. Everything on our menus; from wine to the produce to coffee is produced in small batches, by hand, by artisans; even the art on the walls! Thanks for coming, please visit soon! -The Amelia’s Family
