Alexander J. Khammar, M.D., is a graduate of John Hopkins University School of Medicine, specializing in ophthalmology. He practices at The Eye Specialists Center. 

Dr. Khammar was raised in New Jersey and earned his bachelor's degree in French and Biology at Rutgers University in 1992. He completed another milestone in 1996 when he graduated from The John Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Khammar completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute of The
University of Southern California and continued on to accomplish fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Prior to his transition to Illinois, Dr. Khammar was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center/Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute.
