On location since 1931, Petersen's Ice Cream Parlour has been a community staple for over three quarters of a century. Proudly displayed on the wall are ribbons from the Illinois State Fair, where Petersen's won best ice cream in 1980, 1986, 1987 and a Silver Platter Award from the Food Industry News in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Customers can sample the flavors--raspberry sherbet, turtle, peach, rocky road, superman, caramel ripple, cinnamon, to name a few--then enjoy them in the form of shakes, melts or in cups or cones.
