The patrons swear that the building that is now Skokie House has been around for nearly 100 years, but that is an assertion difficult to confirm. Still, it is obvious Skokie House has been around for a while and its walls could tell myriad stories. The pub qualifies as a "dive," mostly because of its worn bar and furnishings and its inexpensive drinks. However, Skokie House has recently added three big-screen, digital televisions, a new ceiling and a new pool table. Pool is free on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the bar hosts DJ's on occasion.
