Other Details:

Two storied 19th century resort hotels in 1, located just a mile apart, are now under one umbrella as the French Lick Resort. Both have been restored to their former glory and they shuttle guests back and forth in free trolleys to take advantage of their shared amenities, which include horse stables, top of the line golf courses, a Las Vegas-style casino, live entertainment, gourmet food, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and, of course, their spas. Their guest registers in their respective heydays carried the names of celebrities and U.S. presidents, thanks to the healing mineral springs in the area. Both hotels have spas that still offer the mineral baths along with a list of other spa services.

Parking and Public Transportation at French Lick Resort
You can charter or fly a private plane right into the French Lick Municipal Airport, but if that's not an option for you, the closest large airport is 1, at 70 miles to the south. Indianapolis International is 108 miles north. From either of these, you can rent a car and drive to the resort or hire a limo or a taxi. Call the resort to see if other transportation can be arranged from their end for perhaps a better rate. If you drive, once you get to the hotel, there is free valet parking.

Best and Worst Time to Go to French Lick Resort
The time to get the best rate on your hotel room is usually during the week, since weekend rates are often higher and the hotels (and the casino) are more crowded then.

Admission to French Lick Resort
Rates for the resort's rooms vary widely, depending upon how early you book your room, the dates you choose for your stay, and whether or not you find a discounted rate. Rates will also vary for the type of room you book. In general, the low end is in the range of $200 to $250 and rates go up from there.

Insider tip for visitors to French Lick Resort
If you need an in-room refrigerator, make sure you book a suite because regular rooms don't have refrigerators. Also, these hotels are quite large, so if walking long distances is difficult, make sure you tell the hotel staff so they can give you a room close to the guest elevators. Ask for a room away from the service elevators because of the noise level at night.
