When Chicago native Lonnie and his wife Diane lived in the Windy City, they owned a place called Lonnie's Palate Pleasers on the city's south side; he also worked full time as a regional manager for Sprint Corporation. Sprint relocated the couple to Louisville in 1996.Lonnie admits he and Diane knew little about Louisville other than Muhammad Ali and the Derby. Sprint put them up at the Seelback and gave them a tour of the city, and Lonnie and Diane fell in love with it. They were convinced that Louisville was a growing city that would be a great place for a business and for their kids.
