Other Details:
Dat Dog is the pet project of former federal prosecutor Constantine Georges and "the hot dog guy," Skip Murray. Murray began his hot dog career while living in London. He opened Real American Hot Dog Company UK, which imported sausage from Germany and dazzled the Brits with a taste of America. Georges and Murray, both born and raised in New Orleans, met each other on the football field during high school. After Hurricane Katrina, Murray returned from London and the two former pigskin colleagues reconnected. While Dat Dog's menu may be minimal, the taste is anything but, especially given the range of sausage choices and condiments, including mustards, guacamole, wasabi, sauerkraut, homemade chili, and andouille sauce. Dat Dog retains the ambience of a globetrotting hot dog joint while giving a nod to local flavor with Louisiana hot sausage, Louisiana smoked sausage, alligator sausage, and crawfish sausage. Georges and Murray, a pair of New Orleans natives, are confident that simplicity and quality will help franks find a way into the NOLA food scene. In fact, they're convinced that Dat Dog will put a smile on your face!
