Other Details:
Wine Bar + Gourmet Cheese & Pizza Bistro Between its '70s exterior brick facade, small windows, and shared foyer entrance with a semi-retired barber, Vine & Dine is frequently overlooked by the average tourist who comes across the Mississippi River on the ferry to Algiers Point. However, neighbors and regulars "in the know" don’t skip a beat when making their way to the hidden treasure that lies inside. It's clear from the gourmet sensibilities of the menu, eclectic wine selection, and old world style atmosphere that this is not your typical hole in the wall New Orleans neighborhood joint. The wine bar is nestled all the way in the back of the building, away from the hustle and bustle of the day, with no distracting televisions or loud music to disturb you. With just four candlelit tables and a few seats at the bar, it’s easy to get lost in conversation or have a quiet drink to unwind. On warm New Orleans nights the courtyard is the place to be for a romantic evening of dining under the stars. We're excited to have recently added a "Grape Bar" family friendly seating area for those with fresh grapes (under 21). The Wine Bar continues to be reserved for our mature grapes, aged at least 21 years. Husband and wife team Stephen & Vanessa Thurber opened Vine & Dine in 2009 as a retail wine & cheese shop, and just a year later, added the wine bar & courtyard. Their commitment to offering great wines at affordable prices is evident in the ecclectic wine selection priced well below that of most restaurants, and additionally discounted to retail prices for guests who want to take a bottle to go.
