Founded in 1983, Salem Inn offers 40 guest rooms and suites in three historic homes, each within walking distance of Salem's waterfront, shops and restaurants. The Captain West House, which is pet-friendly, features a breakfast room and garden courtyard. Salem Inn's other properties, Curwen House and Peabody House, are smaller but offer similar amenities. Each house is decorated with antiques, and several of the rooms have working fireplaces. Other amenities include cable TV, air conditioning, telephones, private baths, ironing boards, hair dryers and coffee makers. A two-night minimum stay is required from April 17 to September 30. Room rates increase during the month of October.
