More Than Words Books, opened in 2005, is a non-profit business that operates a bookstore and cafe. They hire young people who are either in the foster care system or without families and allow them the opportunity to manage a small business. This helps them not only learn valuable business skills, but build self-confidence and other skills to help them take control of their lives.

More Than Words Books stocks a large selection of used books in excellent condition. These books are offered at a significant discount off list price, with all profits going back into the operation of the store. Students and teachers can get an extra 10% off. Titles in the More Than Words Books inventory can also be ordered on-line.

More Than Words Books also operates a cafe featuring Starbucks coffee, along with various fresh pastries. Free WiFi is also available.
