Founded by UMD alumnus in 1986, the Jungle Grille is a spacious and colorful spot just north of campus. The walls feature unique and original murals to bring a bit of the jungle into the restaurant. The menu is large and features pizza, burgers, grilled items, rice dishes, specialty drinks and desserts. The restaurant attracts college students, professionals and families and there are many regulars. The Grille focuses on freshness--cheesecake is fresh daily, it makes its own dressing and the muffins are very popular.
