The Carriage House Inn would like to extend an invitation to you and your family! Please join our award-winning chefs and gracious staff for lunch or dinner. Dine by the fireplace in our elegant country atmosphere. We encourage you to start your meal with our signature Cream of Crab soup, and then sample our Prime Rib au jus or Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Make sure to save room for a piece of Annie's pie or cheesecake. If you happen to vist on Friday or Saturday evening, we can even help you court your sweetheart with soft piano music and a long stemmed rose.We are located in the historic and charming town of Emmitsburg, Maryland, nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains.The building housing the Carriage House Inn was built in 1857, and is on the National Registry for Historic Places. Originally the warehouse for the Maxwell and Zimmerman Feed Store, the building became a broom factory after the turn of the century, and later a bus depot. The first restaurant to take up residence in the historic building opened in 1943, and was named The White House.
