China Canteen's location may appear to be hidden at first glance, but the restaurant is well-known by many in the Washington, DC area and beyond for its authentic Sichuan menu. Its menu includes Mapo dofu, cumin beef chong qing and wonton soup, although that's just the beginning. Its plethora of flavorful food options more than compensates for its interior's fairly mundane decor. Finding China Canteen can be a bit of a challenge since there isn't a sign in English on the building's exterior. However, there is a sign for the restaurant in front near the street, but it's not at eye level. Take note: the restaurant is situated between Montgomery County Community College and the Rockville Post Office.
