You too can make history at the Landmark Inn. Our Guest History. Our guest history includes visits from some very well known people. Amelia Earhart - 1932 (Amelia Earhart Room #502). Abbott & Costello - 1942. They were the famous comedians who came to Marquette during the American Legion. Well-known musicians Duke Ellington, Loui s Armstrong, and the singing group Peter, Paul, & Mary stayed here when it was the Hotel Northland. The filming crew from the movie, Anatomy of a Murder, including Jummy Stewart, Lee Remick, and George C. Scott stayed here while they filmed at the Courthouse, Big Bay, and Michigamme. Dr. Jerry Linenger stayed with us in the summer of 1997 after returning from his near fatal mission as an astronaut on the Russian Mer station where a fire broke out threatening the lives of all on board.-Year Established: 1997.
